In the following story, explore where their character strengths were demonstrated and helped them to overcome challenges and difficulties.

Rachel Carson
1907 - 1964
My name is Rachel Carson. When I was little, I loved holding my mother’s conch shell to my ear. I dreamed of standing by the ocean, feeling the waves on my feet.

I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, USA, where I loved nature and school. I worked hard and was top of my class. I decided that I wanted to be a writer.
