In the following story, explore where their character strengths were demonstrated and helped them to overcome challenges and difficulties.

Mary Seacole
1805 - 1881
My name is Mary Seacole. I was born in Jamaica a long time ago. My dad was a soldier, and my mum was a nurse. She used plants to make medicine and helped sick people feel better. She taught me everything she knew, and I loved learning how to help people.

At home, we had a boarding house where soldiers stayed when they were hurt or sick. I helped take care of them and learned more about being a nurse from the doctors who visited us. I wanted to spend my whole life helping people.
