In the following story, explore where their character strengths were demonstrated and helped them to overcome challenges and difficulties.

Aneurin (Nye) Bevan
1897 – 1960
My name is Nye Bevan, and I was born in a small village called Tredegar in South Wales. I grew up with lots of brothers and sisters. Life wasn’t always easy for us, and I wanted to make it better for everyone.

My dad worked in the coal mines, just like most of the men in our village. Mining was very hard and dangerous. I had to leave school when I was just thirteen, to work in the mines too.
