training options equip you to deliver effective and engaging
MAP sessions within school.

Face to Face
Training
Ideally, training is delivered face-to-face. The 3 suggestions below can be adapted to meet your specific needs. They can be run as full day / half day sessions across phases or delivered for specific phases. Each session aims to equip all staff with highly effective strategies for teaching mental mathematics.
Day 1: MAP Overview Day: Putting MAP into Practice in your School
• Session 1: Introducing MAP, Resources Overview and Counting Skills
• Session 2: Learning Facts and Running a MAP Session
• Session 3: Mental Strategies and leading a 6-Week Block
Day 2: Mastery of Counting Skills and Learning Facts: A day to equip teachers with knowledge of the progression and range of activities available for Counting and Learning Facts. (1/3 Counting & 2/3 Learning Facts)
Day 3: Mastery of Mental Strategies: A day dedicated to mastering the range and progression of mental strategies across all 4 operations and how to teach them effectively.
Online/Remote
CPD Training
Dave and Anthony provide online CPD training for subject leaders, schools, MATs and clusters, with advice and support in how to deliver effective MAP sessions. These remote sessions are ideal for twilight training. Also available as longer or more bespoke packages.

Session 2:
Counting Skills and Learning Facts: Equipping teachers with knowledge of the progression and range of activities available for Counting and Learning Facts.
Session 3:
Mastering Mental Strategies: Dedicated training to help teachers begin to master the range and progression of mental strategies across all 4 operations.
