In the following story, explore where their character strengths were demonstrated and helped them to overcome challenges and difficulties.

Emmeline Pankhurst
1858 - 1928
My name is Emmeline Pankhurst, and I was born in Manchester a long time ago. Back then, women were not allowed to vote, and many people thought men should make all the decisions. But I didn’t think that was fair!

When I grew up, I married a kind man named Richard. He believed in women’s rights, just like me. Together, we tried to change the law. But when Richard passed away, I knew I had to fight even harder.
