WOW Lesson
Description
Join Emily Gopaul as she introduces the concept of Art to Key Stage 1 pupils. In this WOW lesson, you will be introduced to the work of a contemporary artist who uses waste materials to create imaginative recycled sculptures. The children will understand that sometimes artists use their work to deliver important messages and raise awareness of important issues. Children will learn about the basic proportions of the human body and how to use 3D ‘junk’ or ‘rubbish’ materials and sculpting techniques, to create a sculpture of a figure. They will work collaboratively to help each other with joining materials.
