WOW Lesson

Description

In this WOW lesson, the children will be introduced to Impressionism and the work of impressionist artists. They will learn how this group of artists challenged the status quo at the time and developed a style of art that was considered radical. The children will have a go at using lose brush marks as the impressionist artists did and capturing movement and light like these artists tried to. Children will learn how certain inventions allowed these artists to innovate and create new ways of working, like painting outdoors rather than in a studio.
