Description
Race to 100 / 200 is a simple number line and dice game designed to encourage children to practice all 3 key strategies for counting on in Year 2: Count On (1) – Counting on in 10s Count On (2) – Making multiples of 10 (Filling the box) Count On (3) – Partitioning into Tens and Ones The game needs to be played with a 1-100 or 1-200 number line, or, preferably, the children draw their own number lines and record the steps that they are taking on each turn, highlighting which of the strategies they are using.
