Description
This cross-curricular writing lesson will help children apply their knowledge of co-ordination to a piece of writing based on their history learning. In this lesson, you will explore the following English TAF criteria in the context of a piece of extended historical writing: -write about real events, recording these simply and clearly -use co-ordination (e.g. and, but, or) to join clauses. Children will revisit previous English learning about co-ordination and apply these skills within a historical context. Children will produce a non-chronological report about their chosen significant person - inside a ‘person shaped’ book. This lesson uses Amelia Earhart as the chosen significant person, and the text “Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World” by Kate Pankhurst. The lesson can be adapted for any alternative significant person being studied with an alternative text.
